Pacific Great White Fleet - The Atlantic Fleet when it sailed from Hampton Roads, VA on December 16, 1907, sent on an around the world goodwill mission by President Theodore Roosevelt, consisted of sixteen new battleships painted white with gilded scrollwork on their bows, six destroyers, and several auxiliary ships.
