 Ardrossan, Ayr, Scotland to Canada, 1820

I'm looking at this Boyd family in particular and have just begun my research.
The youngest son "Alexander" is the only one in Scotland who fits the MI inscription in Falkirk, Stirlingshire - "died August 29, 1849 - age 88".  My Alexander Boyd and his wife Helen Kerr had children - John Boyd, Agnes Boyd, Thomas Boyd, Helen Boyd and Jean Boyd. We know that Agnes married Andrew Graham - some of their offspring went to Australia.  Thomas married Isabella McLennan in 1819 and these two came to Canada in 1820.

The Register of Proclamations of Banns & Marriages of Lochwinnoch, Renfrew
show the following: "1735, Oct'r 25th John Boyd in Ardrossan-Miln and Jean Caldwell in this parish Booked & c. Consigned be married at Ardrossan ye May Restored ------"and the family built as below, from reference to the IGI and Old Parochial Registers.

There are a couple of children that don't really seem to fit yet - for example, the first child "Jane" from the IGI had a mother named "JANE" and the entry is for Stevenston.  I didn't find the corresponding OPR reference.

The 2nd child "Robert" is most likely true but I still need to find the OPR entry.

#8 "Agnes" I only found in the IGI and again mother's name is "Jane".

#11 "John" is perplexing - christened September 21, 1760 according to the IGI - but I have the OPR in front of me for September and the original transcription for the IGI must be in error.  There were in fact, two "John"'s baptized Sept 21st, but sons of Patrick Jack and Archibald Mure. The next entry in the register is for my Alexander Boyd in October.  My gut feeling is that the IGI entry is wrong.  Of course, I need to get to the local FHS to order that film from previous research for the IGI and also the film for the register of births & baptisms for Ardrossan.

Anyway, the hunt is on and I would love to hear from other BOYD researchers
if anything in this fits.
