OLIVE HARCOURT -- MARY OLIVE BOYD

Dear Richard Boyd,

Whilst browsing the Internet I was delighted to find Clan Boyd Society web site in which names known to me are listed.

In 1912 my guardian Olive Harcourt, (1868-1957) visited Canada. Several years before her death Miss Olive gave me her diaries which span the years 1913 to the late 1940's. In order that this history is not lost, I have been seeking descendants of those she was acquainted with, with the view of passing on any snippets of information.

Unfortunately Olive did not record the time spent in Canada - the first entry begins when leaving Toronto on May 28th. 1913. However, there is a photograph of the Harcourt sisters with Mr. & Mrs. (Ormsley?) Boyd, taken on a boat in Karwartha Lakes District. The book also contains two photographs of a Mr. Nicoll's house at Bobcaygeon and another , which may be of the same property taken from a different angle, in front of which is pictured a woman with pony and trap.

The signatures of Mary Olive Boyd born November 10th., and Marion Cust MacDonald July 25th., & others are to be found in Miss Olive's Birthday Book. The Baumfelder's were also great friends of the Harcourt family.

Yours sincerely,
Joan Cocozza, Bristol, England.
