William Boyd Northumberland, England My father is Edward Boyd, born 1932 in Blyth, NBL and my mother is Hilda Margaret Talbot, born 1936 Wellington SAL. My grandparents were Edward Boyd born 1903 Gateshead, Co Durham, and Minnie Spark born 1903 Blyth NBL. They married in 1928 and also had one daughter Dorothy Boyd who married Clifford Reid and they have two sons Christopher and Gordon. Also Arthur Benjamin Talbot born 1897 SAL and Florence Winifred Hughes born 1903 SAL. My g.grandparents on the Boyd side are David Tate Boyd who married Alice Scott. They were married in Gateshead DUR but eventually moved back to Lesbury NBL where the Boyds had connections. My G.G.Grandfather was Stephen Boyd, baptised 1823 and he married a woman called Rachel. According to one birth certificate she was Rachel Nancy but according to another she was Rachel Tate. I have never traced their marriage but they were living in Lesbury in 1851 census with their son David aged approx 9 months old. This David died and my G.Grandfather was a later addition to their very large family. Stephen Boyd's father was William, native of Ancroft and Cheswick in NBL. His mother was Ann Wilkinson, native of Rennington in NBL. William was listed variously as a seaman or mariner, according to the baptismal records of his children, but is then in a later trade directory as a grocer or general dealer. Stephen was a shoemaker. They lived in Lesbury and then moved to Alnmouth. I have an idea who the next generation down is but must find some more records to prove it before I add any more to this list. I would love to hear from ANYONE who is researching Boyd in Northumberland, England as there were lots of children but I think that I am the only one interested in the family so far.
