LIVERPOOL ORPHANS IN COAL MINES 1881 CENSUS

Young men who came from a Liverpool Orphanage to work in the mines

around Belthorn , Oswaldtwistle and Darwen, and lived with the local

people. Many settled and married in the Belthorn, Hoddlesden, Darwen &

Oswaldtwistle areas.
