                                       Turner Boyd

Turner Boyd; born in The West Indies, died in Canada. Turner my great great great grandfather's name was Turner Boyd, he would have been born about 1814 in the West Indies somewhere. I know that he came to Canada and lived in Belleville Ontario and worked as a barber there for years. Turner is in "The Central Canadians" 1600- 1900 listing for the year 1851. Turner is also in the "Directory of The Province of Ontario, 1857" with Gazetteer listed as Barber in Belleville, Ontario. Turner is also in the 1861 edition with his wife Mary Ann Boyd (maiden name Graham) also listed are their four children they had at that time, Elizabeth Boyd, 12 years of age,

William Boyd, 10 years of age, James Boyd, 5 years of age and Isabella Boyd four years of age.  Isabella is my gg grandmother. Isabella married William Howard in Barrie, Ontario and the moved to Parry Sound, Ontario and had 6 children; William, Mary, Charles, Grenville, Clarence, all with the last name Howard.
