BOYD ASSOCIATED (SEPT) NAMES

 
Most of the Scottish Clans have a list of  associated or sept names.  The Boyds are no exception. Sept or associated names are names of families that lived in the same general area as the Clan. Over the centuries there was a lot of intermarriage between the main family in an area and the surrounding families.  The following is a list of the families that lived in and around Cunningham and Ayrshire and thus may be considered associate/sept of the Boyd. Most of these names came from a book on Scottish families written by Robert Bain.
