5. Trenton Boyd, Columbia, Missouri

(The late) Linda Lawhon and others say that the Isabel Boyd who married Paul W. Boyd was the daughter of Robert Boyd and Elizabeth Lauderdale. Robert Boyd's father was William Boyd who married Isabel Leach. Hence my interest in the possible new information you may receive on the
Witherspoon, Leach, McCulloch - Boyd lines.

I have been unsuccessful in learning anything about Paul W. Boyd. Who
were his parents? Where did he materialize from, etc etc? He and his
family traveled back & forth between Tennessee and Indiana several times
(based on census records), before three of his sons struck out for
Missouri. One son stayed in Tennessee.

Paul W. Boyd 1st. Isabel Boyd 2nd. Elizabeth Thompson
Warrick County, Tennessee in the US census

(Note: I do not know if this following John Boyd is the father of Paul W. Boyd but he looks like a good *possibility* based on the census information). If this John Boyd is the father of Paul W. Boyd, it appears that Paul must have been born in Rutherford County, TN)

Marriage:   11 MAY 1833, Rutherford, Tennessee

Extracted marriage record
Marriage records and bonds, 1804-1963  Rutherford County (Tennessee). County Court Clerk

Note: you may want to obtain the marriage record (license) if possible as parents names *may* be on the record. If the info does not appear in the civil record, if you know what religion they were or what church they attended...many time the church records give more info than civil records.

Note: Cannon County lies almost exactly in the center of Tennessee, approximately half way between Chattanooga and Nashville. It contains an area of some 270 square miles and was created on January 31, 1836, from parts of Rutherford, Smith, and Warren Counties.

(Note: this *appears to be the same John Boyd as above in the 1830 census)

1840 United States Federal Census > Tennessee > Cannon > Not Stated

(Note: If this P. W. Boyd is Paul W. Boyd as it appears to be, it appears that he married Elizabeth sometime between 1850 & 1860 in Macon County, TN....although, if this is the correct famil, it appears from the census that Isabel would have died sometime between 1850 & 1860)

(Note: since I was not able to locate Paul W. Boyd in any later censuses and due to his age in 1880, I would be inclined to assume that he died sometime after 1880 in Warrick County, IN...so that would be the first place I would look for his death record and obituary)
