Isaac D. Boyd ~ Ida L. Russell

Isaac D. Boyd, a retired farmer of St. Charles, was born in Addison,
Steuben County, N. Y., November 27, 1842, son of William and Mary Jane
(Eaton) Boyd. He was brought to St. Charles township as a boy, and after
finishing his education took up farming. In March, 1865, he enlisted in
Company H, First Minnesota Battalion, and served until the close of the
war. After his return he devoted his life to farming on the old homestead
until 1908 when he retired and took up his residence in the village.
Isaac D. Boyd was married January 7, 1874, to Ida L. Russell, born March
13, 1852, in New Hampshire, daughter of William K. and Martha C. Russell.
This union has been blessed with five children: George H. Boyd, who died
in 1894 at the age of sixteen; Emily Boyd, now Mrs. Charles A. Crist, of
Montana; Robert R. Boyd, of Globe, Ariz., Jay Clinton Boyd, of Idaho; and
Ida May Boyd at home.
