Samuel F. Boyd Lac qui Parle Co; Minnesota Seeking Samuel F. Boyd. One of the cities in Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota is named Boyd after a Samuel F. Boyd who at the time of the city's founding was General Ticket Agent for the Minneapolis & Saint Louis Railroad. It appears that he may have died in Iowa, perhaps at Davenport and he left at least one daughter but no mention of sons were found. In fact not much more of anything was found thus far, but there should be additional information still to be found. I am hoping to come up with additional information on him and eventually a photo, one copy of which will go to the city of Boyd, Minnesota for public display. John Willand, Retired Historian 145 Malcolm Ave. S.E. Minneapolis, MN 55414 and/or contact Richard G. Boyd NOTE: Use this data as a finding tool, just as you would any other secondary source. When you find the name of an ancestor listed, confirm the facts in original sources.
