John K. Boyd and Elsa Boyd

I've been trying to find some information for an adopted cousin of my husband.  He is 57 years old.  I have not met him.  He has asked for my help in finding his birth parents.  I have looked through clanboyd but have not yet found anything.

He has found some adoption records which indicate that his name at birth was David Raymond Boyd born in 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  His birth mother was  Bertha Ruth Boyd born in 1923.  I have found this family on a census in Hinds County, Mississippi, in 1930.  Others in the household were Bertha's parents, John K. Boyd, born 1893 and Elsa Boyd, born 1892.  Children were John K. Boyd, Jr., Dorothy Boyd, and Clinton Boyd.  Bertha Boyd was called "Ruth Boyd" in this census.

Can you give some guidance on where to look now?  They moved from Illinois to Mississippi sometime after the 1920 census.  John K. was a poultry farmer.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
