Samuel
Boyd/Sarah Amsden
Samuel Boyd, son of John Boyd Sr. and Margaret LONG was baptized 3 May 1747 in Hopkinton. He married Sarah AMSDEN in Conway, MA. 10 Feb 1773. Samuel was a Minute Man during the American Revolution. According to "Massachusetts Revolutionary Soldiers" page 236,
"Samuel Boyd was a sergeant in Capt. Hugh McClemmen's company, Col Samuel William's regiment, which marched that day (20 April 1775) in response to the alarm of April 19, 1775, from Colrain and Shelburne; service 15 1/2 days"
He died in Bolton, New York. He was Deacon in 1799 and a member of the committee to make arrangements for the settlement of a pastor for Shelburne. Samuel lived in Shelburne and raised a large family. He was still living in Shelburne in 1805. See "Vanished Pioneer Homes and Families of Shelburne,

Tuttle and Lovice Tuttle. m. 2nd Samuel GOODMAN 1816 widower of Hannah Boyd (Sally's sister) born 25 Jun 1779 d. 13 Mar 1861 son of Eleazar Goodman and Rebecca White and had children: Stephen Lewis Goodman born 25 June 1817 died 14 Dec 1893; Hannah Boyd Goodman born 1 April 1819 and died 8 March 1894; and Sarah Helen Goodman born 26 June 1825 and died 25 Dec 1845.
