WILL: WILLIAM BOYD - 1886 - BULLSKIN TWP; FAYETTE CO; PA

Last Will & Testament of: William BOYD - Will Book, Vol 6 - Pg 306
Dated: 22 June 1886  Fayette County, Pa.

In the name of God, Amen, I William BOYD of Bullskin Township, County of Fayette and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind and memory do hereby make, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following: hereby revoking any will or wills heretofore made by me, First, I direct all my just debts and funeral expenses to be fully paid and satisfied, as soon as conveniently may be, after my decease, Second, I do hereby value and appraise all of my real estate at seven thousand seven hundred dollars, and I do hereby devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife LYDIA BOYD the one third of the same, during her natural life the same to remain in the land, Third, I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved daughter CATHERINE BOYD five hundred dollars in money, Fourth, I give devise and bequeath unto my son JAMES BOYD five hundred dollars, Fifth, I give devise and bequeath unto my son ROBERT BOYD five hundred dollars, Sixth, I give devise and bequeath unto my son HIRAM BOYD one thousand dollars in money, Seventh, I give devise and bequeath unto my son FRANKLIN BOYD one thousand dollars, Eighth, I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter ELIZABETH BOYD one thousand dollars, also my organ, Ninth, It is my will and I do hereby direct that the above sums shall remain in the land as long as my said wife Lydia shall live, and from and immediately after the death of my said wife, I do hereby direct that (my Executor as hereinafter named) shall sell all of my said Real Estate and make deed or deeds therefore in fee simple in as full and large a manner in every respect as I could myself do if living, and pay to each of said children the respective amounts bequeathed to them, according to my will, And lastly, I do nominate, constitute and appoint my said son HIRAM BOYD to be the Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, In Witness Whereof I, the said WILLIAM BOYD have hereunto set my hand and seal. this 22nd day of June 1886.

Signed sealed and delivered and published by the above named William BOYD as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto,

Be it remembered, That on the 22nd day of July A.D. 1886, before me, Charles D. CONNER, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration, in and for said County, came Alfred C. REED and John KURTZ, subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Instrument of Writing, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of WILLIAM BOYD, deceased, who being duly sworn, according to law, did each depose and say that they were personally present and saw the said WILLIAM BOYD sign and seal the foregoing Instrument of Writing, and heard him declare the same to be his Last Will and Testament, when of sound and disposing mind and memory, to the best of their belief, That they signed their names as witnesses thereto, by request of the said Testator in his presence, and in the presence of each other, That they know of no undue influences being used in making said Will or any later Will made.

Now July 22, 1886, the testimony of the above witnesses being adjudged sufficient, I do hereby admit the foregoing Will to Probate, and order the same to be recorded as such. Given under my hand, at Uniontown, the above date, Letters Testamentary granted to Hiram BOYD who was sworn as Executor the 22nd July A.D. 1886.
